sometimes it gets quiet on the phone and we run out of things to say

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
I've been talking to this girl for a couple weeks and we talk everyday, but sometimes it gets quiet on the phone and we run out of things to say and it feels really awkward...still we still talk to each other daily, and she always call me and sometimes insist me to call her despite if it gets quiet on the phone...so my question is, does she just want attention? Or is she trying to build something between us? What could this all mean?

RomanceClass.com Advice
Quiet times occur in conversation usually when both people are introverted (shy) and otherwise non-talkers.

The first thing to do is to discuss the quiet times and recognize them as characteristics of your personalities. These qualities may feel awkward, but the opposite types of personalities (over-talkers) have problems of their own.

Before you talk to her make a list of questions you want to ask her every time you talk to her: how are you feeling, etc. The questions might be about her parents, siblings, pets, friends, schoolwork. There are many topics that can be asked every time you talk. Then there are special topics that relate to things that just happened recently. We have tips on things to talk about at: http://www.romanceclass.com/miscr/howto/whattalk.asp

Hope some of this helps you! She sounds like she cares about you.
