We don't talk or look at each other. What went wrong?

My best friend fancies a boy whom i have fancied for a while.
She admitted she fancied him, so i told her i don't. I attract a lot of boys, So i let her have him.
He used to flirt a lot with me.
She admitted to him she fancied him. He said he just wants to be friends.
5 months gone by - he's all quiet around me. We don't talk or look at each other. What went wrong?

The only thing I can think of is that he is attracted to you and is now shy and nervous about it.

Why not break the ice and say hi to him when you pass by?
