I really like this guy and we go out and do stuff like go to the movies and go out to eat, but I think that he is still into his ex(they dated for 3 years) should I wait til he gets over her to start something or will he ever get over her?

It depends on how long ago he broke up with her.

If it is a few months then you should expect him to be getting used to the change and possibly be on the rebound. You should take care with forming a relationship with him too deeply, too soon.

On the other hand, if more than a few months have passed, he has had time to get over the major part of break up feelings and you can act more openly with him.

In either case, if he is still thinking of his ex too much you should have a long honest talk with him about the matter and try to get to the bottom of it.
