I lied to date her, now how do I tell the truth?

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
i am very shy when around a public gathering and especially amoung girls. it is so much that i can't even chat with my younger sisters friends.

i am in the university and can't make much friends and no female friends at all not to talk of dating them cause of my lack of courage and boldness.

Recently a girl in my school approached me and said i looked familiar in a town in which she stays and which i have never been to but because of her beauty i lied that it was me and we became a little bit close but now i feel guilty and don't know how to tell her the truth.

Well, it wasn't like you cheated on her, but on the other hand honesty is important and if she just "finds out" somehow at the wrong time she can feel hurt that you never told her the truth. So I'd find a way to tell her sooner rather than later.

When you guys are alone sometime, start out by saying that it's "sort of a silly thing" but you need to get something off your chest. And then tell her that you were so overwhelmed by her beauty and sweetness when she first approached you, that when she said you looked familiar all you could think of was how much you WANTED to be familiar to her, and that you agreed with her without thinking. Which is pretty much the truth. Tell her that since then you've become even more fond of her and that you wanted to be completely honest. I think she will be happy that you told her the truth, and also happy that you were so impressed by her on that first meeting.
