White girl, "mixed" boy, intolerant mother

I have known this boy, from other friends, for a long time. He is very sweet and I know he does not want the kinds of stuff other boys do because he is saving himself for marriage. I know he is not perfect, no guy is. But he is my perfect type of guy. There is only one problem. He is mixed and i am white. I hate racism but my mother said that i cant date him because of that. It hurts me very much that she is like this. I have already tryed to talk to her about it but she keeps saying NO!!. PLEASE HELP ME!! I think im now old enough to make my own descisions... i am 16

At 16, you are still a child in the household and must listen to your mother. It is unfortunate that she is not open to inter-racial dating but some people are still old-fashioned.

You can still have him as a good friend and enjoy him that way. It is not what you want, but may be all that you can get.

If you remain friends until 18, I think you would have the right to make your own decisions.
