You see, I've got numerous friends are guys, and they're cool, but I get very shy at dances and never know what to say to other guys.

Alone with a guy you can talk about your feelings, or school, or friends. Just remember he is probably just as shy as you are so don't expect too much conversation back. Keep practising.

In a group of people it is more difficult to have a real conversation. Make sure you are up on the latest music, movies, stars so you feel comfortable when the subject goes in those directions. Ask the guys what their favorite games are (video) or what their favorite sports are.
