Confused

Okay, so I have liked this guy forever. I never was really quite sure if we went out, because one of my friends is always like calling us boyfriend and girlfriend and neither of us deny it. Then one night on instant messangenger he was like are we going out? And I was like well you neevr really asked me. So he was like okay, I will. But he did it over the computer and it all seemed like a joke or something, I don't know. He never asked in person. We hang out alot and stuff, but he never really refers to me as his girlfriend. I'm so confused!

The best way to put your confusion to rest is to simply ask him in person. He sounds like he is too shy to do it himself. You two should get into the habit of communicating openly and honestly so you have a stronger relationship.
