He doesn't want to kiss

Hi, I've been with this guy on and off for about a year. We've had our issues and our blow-ups, but we're still considering working things out. Lately though, he doesn't want to kiss me anymore. When I ask him about it, he says that he doesn't know the reason and that he's just not compelled to kiss me. We still have sex, cuddle, play around, tickle each other, but no kissing and the public demonstrations of affection aren't really there right now. And he's a very physically affectionate person otherwise, just not with me, just not now.
What could be the reason that he doesn't want to kiss me anymore? He pulls away and avoids me. It kinda hurts my feelings.

You need to get him to be more open about what is going on. Saying he doesn't know just doesn't cut it. If he can't explain it, I would advise seeing a counselor.
