Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
Ok here's my question. I am a 21 year old female who has fallen for her best guy friend who is 25. We have known each other for about 3-4 years now and it wasn't something that happened overnight either. It just gradually sorta happened even though I told myself I would never 'fall' for him like I have seen so many other girls do, but I did and I can't go back in time and change that now, but we have become really good friends through it all. We have had our ups and downs, good times and bad, and have crossed that 'friends' line a few times and there have been times I think he really liked me but was too scared to admit it and all that mumbo jumbo...this could be another question to ask, hahah but what I'm getting at is this...after everything has been all said and done he started hanging out with this girl who is really younger then him! Like still in high school young, now she's legal or whatever so don't worry, but it's really hard for me to see him with her!! He hasn't had a gf in like five years now...and has had his share of 'one-night' stands and all that stuff since I've known him and he has always said that his next gf will probably be someone that could either be the 'one' for him or someone who he wants to spend a very long time with. But now all of a sudden he is going out with her, under her Mother's 'rules' I guess and I'm really upset and confused with him?? She's too young to be the 'one' for him and I don't know why she was the one that was able to 'get him' I guess. I still wanna be really good friends with him but its hard cause he's got her now and pretty much everything that I use to be able to tell him, I'm sure will get back to her or he'll tell her the things that he use to be able to tell me all the time. I know its normal to be jealous over her, but the fact that she's soo young and doesn't know what love or anything is yet doesn't help me out either. I pretty much avoid my friend when I know he is gonna be with this girl cause it hurts to see him with her. But yet I still wanna be his friend? So what do I do?? Do I just lay off some now that he has girlfriend?? And well she doesn't like me very well I dont think cause of my past with him and how good of friends we are or use to be. And it doesn't help that she's in highschool either, cause its all 'highschool games' to her. So is it worth it wanting to still be his friend and still having these feelings for him?? I would really appreciate a resonse back, I have tried getting advice from other websites but I never get one back. Thanks for your time!!

My advice is to continue to be friends with him since he is sure to get over this high school girl fairly soon. You will be rewarded for sticking with him despite the obviously jealous situation.
