Engagement ring not forthcoming

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
My boyfriend and i have been going outfor quite sometime. Well about 9 mo. ago he asked me to marry him. he gave me his class ring and said ill get u a real engagement ring soon. now 9 mo later im im still ringless. sometimes i even start arguments because im upset that i don't have a ring yet. i have sometimes asked him about when im gonna get the ring and all he can say is soon but when is soon? then at the same time i don't want to feel like im pressureing him and then also it make me feel as if i don't deserve to have a ring or something like that. but then why would he ask me if he didn't want to marry me? was it just someway of keeping off the market so to speak?i just don't know? Please can i get some advise???

My best guess is that he can't afford a nice ring for you. If he does have the money, try to pin him down on how soon is soon. Or, unfortunately, perhaps he has lost the ring feeling. You should sound him out on that subject. I agree with you that he should have given you a ring by now.
