Outside the workplace

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I have known a guy for 2 1/2 years, work with him and delevop a friendship. How do I show signs that I'm ready to hang out outside of the workplace as friends?

The easiest solution is to ask him out for a drink or dinner after work. This is something that friends do so he probably will accept. Then see how things develop.
