I am thirteen years old and in eighth grade. I have never had a boyfriend or even close, Im really shy and I have a huge crush on a guy in one of my classes. I like him SO much but I don't know what to do!! Im VERY shy! And Im sure I have been kind of pushing him away even though hes barely said a word to me this year. PLEASE HELP!!

The first thing to figure out is what kind of relationship do you want with him. Friendship is the first step towards a stronger relationship. Can you think of ways to become friendly with him? Perhaps you could ask him for help with homework. Ask if you could call him if you get stuck on homework. That should make him feel good.
Meanwhile, work on your shyness by talking with your girlfriends and even with your parents and siblings. Share your feelings with them. Shyness is often caused by a feeling of difference. But, nobody is that differenet ... or in other words, we are all different in our own way.
If none of the above are working, start writing a diary where you share with yourself your own feelings. The important thing is to get your feelings out so that you don't feel so shy. Eighth grade is a difficult time for everyone, but especially for girls. Things will get easier, I promise.
