I want a committ from him. He is unable to give anything and I do not know what to do.

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I have been with my boyfriend for 5 years. We are still young, both 24 years old. I love him so much and he loves me so much. However, we are in different stages of our life. He is still going to graduate school and I am in the working field. Basically, it comes down to. I want to settle down. I want a committ from him. He is unable to give anything and I do not know what to do. He says that he is unable to say if he wants to marry me, because he doesn't know. It drives me crazy and I cry and it becomes I mess. I don't know what I should do, how come he doesn't know if he wants to marry me. I just don't know what to do. It has been this way for about one year... I am just tried of waiting for him. If he will ever be ready, I don't know. What do I do?

RomanceClass.com Advice
He is obviously going through a lot of changes in his life. He has gone from undergrad to grad. I would imagine the he has no idea what the future holds and is under constant academic stress. Given these circumstances, it appears perfectly normal for him to make more life changing decisions.

You have two options, wait out his grad degree and then see if he wants to marry you then (which isn't so bad since you are still young) or give him up for someone who's world has stablilized. We can't tell you what to do in this case, but we can give you the options.

Personally, I say stick it out. he'll appreciate you all the more for it... and if you do stick it out, don't keep badgering him. Live with your decision.
