My boyfriend is really hyper and a big flirt!

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
My boyfriend is really hyper and a big flirt! When we are alone together he is really sweet and passionate. I love him so much but... I can't stand him sometimes because he seeks attention and hugs everyone he sees even if he doesn't know them. Sometimes, he'll see his exs and he gets all personal with them and (honestly, I don't care and want to know them but...) introduces me to them and gives me some wierd and embarrassing title. He shouts out things in public like, "No I WILL NOT do it with you"
He gets really annoying and embarasses me while I'm with my friends. Sometimes when I'm talking he'll just butt in and say some really stupid corny joke about being homosexual or other "touchy" subjects. Usually I'm ok with it because I can just accept it.. but he gets really annoying and embarrasses me sometimes. Am I being too nit-picky? How can I kindly tell him to stop acting like a little 5 year old while still keeping our relationship and not hurt his feelings?

RomanceClass.com Advice
Take him aside and talk with him about it when you have time to really talk about it. Tell him that some behavior of his may seem to be really fun to him but it's causing you to be uncomfortable. You say that some times it doesn't bother you, probably when you're with friends you've known forever. Ask him if he'll be willing to stop if you give him a sign, like putting your hand on his shoulder or saying, "pookie, you're just too funny." or something so he knows that you think he's over the line.

He may very well come back and tell you to live with him like he is and deal. Then you have to make a decision whether you can in fact deal with him when he's like that. And that's not something I can answer for you.

Good luck!
