all my mates get asked out by guys, but I get dissed for my weight!

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
, they are always getting eyed up in the street and i feel really...i dont know, bad i guess.
ive only been out with one boy in my whole life, and that was in primary school. now i get dissed a lot coz of my weight.
now im in my final year at secondary school, and i really like this boy in my class, and i always catch him looking at me, but i`m too afraid to ask him out, because its his mate who are dissing me.
i dont know what to do, its like i`ve reached a barrrier that i cant get through.
will i be alone my whole life? coz this is really getting me down. all my mates go out with their boyfriends after school, and i just go home and play on the gamecube, or watch telly.

Peer pressure bites and it seems like the guy whom you catch looking at you is facing it. Not only that, but I wouldn't be surprised if all but one of his mates is also facing it and that is why they are dissing you.

The good thing is that you catch him looking at you when he thinks you aren't. Here's an easy thing to do when you do catch him... smile or wink... or both. He may soon start chatting you up. If he does and his mates dis him, well, not to sound like an old fogie, they really weren't his mates. However, I'm sure once they see how cool you are, they will change their attitudes. If not, to heck with them.

One way or the other, things will get better. Just don't spend too much time in front of the telly. Go out and do something. If your mates are with their boyfriends, give them their time together and try something like an after-school club or a charitable organization. Nothing will make you feel better than spending time with people who either have the same interests or spending time helping those that need help.
