I Love Him - He Has a Girlfriend

i have known my best friend for 3 1/2 years and i have recently relized that i love him more than a friend. The only thing is that he has a girlfriend. i kno that this would change everything please help me figure out what to do.
Do i tell him I love him more than a friend or just continue being his best friend?

First, many people love their friends. Maybe you love him like a "best friend". But think about it. I have some best friends that I love with all my heart - I would drive out at 3am to rescue them if they needed it. That is what love is all about. It is about being loyal, being there, caring for each other.
That all being said, I realize that what you're saying is you want to become intimate with him. That is usually the dividing line between friends and boyfriend-girlfriend. He already HAS a girlfriend. So you obviously can't do that. So to tell him you want to be intimate with him would be a really bad idea.
I would stay as best friends, and continue to show him that you care for him, as all friends do. Maybe some day he'll break up with his girlfriend and you can express your own desires. But don't try to break them up! If you do, it will taint the relationship you have with him. He needs to make the decision on his own. -- from Lisa
