She Ran out of Energy for Us

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
I don't know what to do about my ex-girlfriend.We've been having serious problems in the last week. Before this bad week started ,we spent every day together, she was happy,so was i.We've been together just over a year now,but we "broke up" 3rd month into the relationship and have been "more than just friends"for the rest. This Valentines day is when it started. We had plans but she stood me up ON Valentines day,and i didn't see her for days without talking to her.Now she dosen't seem to want to keep this relationship going anymore.I don't know if she's found someone else, if she's tired of me,or if she's going through some kind of phase. She says "I don't want things to change","i'm not cheating","i love you but your getting too needy for this relationship".

I care for her alot and i'd hate to ruin a good thing if i didn't have to.is it even worth trying to patch things up or should I just give up and move on before we start hurting eachother? And do you think if we did end it,we could be "just friends" or is it just a dead end?

It's never a good sign if your partner is lying to you. She is saying she doesn't want things to change while she is actively damaging the relationship. it is definitely time to back away for a while and be just friends.
