I Want to Break Up

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Male
I have a problem. There's a girl that really likes me, and I thought I liked her, but now that I know her, I don't like here as a GIRLFRIEND anymore. I want to stay friends, but don't know how to tell her that. I think one reason is because there is a girl at school who I have known for 5 years, and I really like her. I am really confused.

RomanceClass.com Advice
Definitely break up with a current girlfriend before you start doing anything with anyone else! That is only fair. For all you know your girlfriend wants to break up too but doesn't know how to say it. The most important thing in any relationship is to be completely honest. So sit down with her and explain that you just don't want to date her any more, that you want to be friends only. She might be upset, but she needs to accept that love is about two people voluntarily choosing to be together. If she wants to stay and you don't, it's not going to work. It's one of those life lessons that people have to learn.
