Getting Closer to my Guy Friend

I have had a best guy friend since the sixth grade. We tell one another practically everything. He's always there for me when I need someone to talk to or to hang out with.

Now that we're juniors, we've become closer than ever. My other friends are also beginning to notice. I know that I tend to flirt, but everyone says that our chemistry is undeniable. I've never been afraid to tell a guy how I feel... until now. He's been there for me a lot. I'm scared to lose the one friendship I've maintained for such a long while.

Would it be appropriate for me to make a move? Or should I talk to him about it first?

Going from friend to boyfriend-girlfriend isn't a gigantic leap into an ocean. It is done in small steps so that it's casual and easy. That way there isn't any stress involved. Start going to movies with him, as friends. Start hugging him hello, as a friend. Then keep upping the ante just a little bit each time. Go to more romantic movies. It will make the transition very easy.
