He Kissed his Ex

I've been with my b/f for almost 10 months now.. I always suspected him of having something for his ex since we hooked up just a little after she broke up with him..

We were shakey in the begining but lately it seemed like he really started to care.. Then the other day someone told me they heard something about him and his ex.. When I confronted him about it, he said he didn't know what they ment but the next day he told me about how he went to her house because she got him 'alittle something' for christmas.. and he kissed her because he had mixed feelings because it was his ex he was 'in love with' throwing herself all over him..

He is really trying to talk to me about it and it seems like he really cares and wants to work it out.. I heard him say things I never heard him say with swearing and everything and even in bad times before he never would.. He said he hates her and never wants to see or hear from her again.. I know she still wants him, so that's what makes me think well if he didn't like me then why wouldn't he just stay with her and not try so hard on me..

He really broke my trust though.. But he told me he would wait as long as it took to make things better again.. I want to believe him but I don't know if I want to let my guard down.. Please help.. :*(

It's troubling that he was never going to tell you about this and you only found out from a friend. So not only did he cheat but he was just going to lie eternally about it - and he was really only upset that he got caught.

If he's REALLY really sorry and swears that, then I would take him back and work on rebuilding that trust. It'll take a while, but it can certainly be done.
