I am 50, She is 28
Visitor's Question from a 41-50 year old Male i am a 50yr old man in love with a 28 yr old woman. there is a very strong connection between us and we consider ourselves best friends. is this healthy? i would like to make her a part of my life, but how. i feel if it was not for the age difference we would be together already. how can this be overcome?
thanks
RomanceClass.com Advice There are lots of people who deal with age gaps. She's not a brand new 18 yr old adult that has no idea what the adult world is like. She is almost 30 - she's had plenty of time to be an adult, to settle into what she wants out of life and, if she wanted, to date guys her own age.
The critical thing is to make completely sure you both want the same things out of life. If for example she wanted kids, you would be in your 70s when the kids got out of high school. Is she prepared to raise them alone if you don't last that long? These are serious issues to address. It'll be much easier if she and you don't want kids of course - that is a far easier relationship to make work. Then it's simply a matter of enjoying each other's time and hobbies.
