I like him, he has a girlfriend

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
i have an online friend from india. we met just this last september so we're almost 3 mths good friends. when i first met him he has no gf but courting someone. i was the one who pursued him to go on w/ that girl coz he said that he has no chance already.

finally, the girl becomes his gf. as days went by i just have felt that i am falling for him. what should i do. there are times that he keeps on asking me whos my special someone now and he said that he know. hes assuming that my special someone is HE. and he is right but i never admitted it coz he has a gf already and im afraid that, that may caused him to get away from me & lost the friendship we have.

he's still communicating w/ me through chatting. do i really need to tell him my feelings for him or just keep it and be a good friend to him? i love him.

It sounds like he's having great fun having "two girlfriends". He has the one in real life that he can go to parties with and kiss and hug, and he has you that he can chat with whenever he wants to and be romantic with without any strings attached. That's not really fair to either one of you.

Having online friends is fine, but if he has a girlfriend, it's not really kosher for him to be egging you into feeling more strongly for him. It's almost like he's cheating on her with you, trying to get both of you to be in love with him.

Ask yourself if you are seriously ready to get into a long distance relationship with him, to try to visit him when you can and to deal with the loneliness and lack of physical contact that a long distance relationship entails.

If you are really ready for all of those things, then tell him that the next time you talk. Life is too short to waste years of it lying about how you feel. Tell him that you would gladly be his girlfriend. He should have the right to know the truth and to make his own choice. Maybe he would gladly choose you and the only reason he chose this other girl is that that wasn't an option (as far as he knew).
