Many people date and then become wonderful long term friends. That is a quite natural progression. If you're still feeling too hurt by the breakup to be able to do that, then let her know. There's no shame in that - it's natural to take a while to get over a break-up. If she's a good friend she'll respect that and give you your time to get over the break-up.
