Father Threatens to Deport Son

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
My boyfriend and i have been together for 5 months. Not the longest but we adore and love each other and have been EXTREMELY intimate with each other. We've basically done everything and back. We're both 18 year olds in high school, but i'm graduating in two weeks.

Summer is coming and his dad hates me. I have no clue why, but he does. His dad is forcing him to go back to Peru for the summer, and that would be okay, but were not sure if he's ever coming back. We've already 'broken up' twice because his dad threatened to deport him if he didn't. Were still in love and don't want to leave each other, but he has to go for the summer with no way to contact me. What do i do?

Heartbroken

RomanceClass.com Advice
Your boyfriend is 18. He is a legal adult. He is able to get a job, to buy an airline ticket, to rent an apartment, and to do everything else that 18 year olds can do.

I know many 18 year olds who moved out of the house, got a job, and lived their own life. It is a very common thing to do.

Since your boyfriend is 18, I am not sure how his father could "deport him"? Either he's legal in the country or he isn't at this point.

I think you should both look seriously at your options, and not let his father dictate his life going forward.

Good luck.
