Is it real or is there someone else

Visitor's Question from a 41-50 year old Male
My girlfriend and I have been together for 5 and a half years. We were totally in love for the first 2. she moved into my house after 1 and we would do almost eveything together. We would talk about our dreams and desires and our plans together. Our sex life was great, we did things for each other and really respected each other. We had quite a few differences but our 2 personalities complimented each other. She is a pretty grounded person and I'm more by the seat of the pants type. It has gradually gone down hill with many arguments and 1 or 2 day splits only to get back together and make it good for awhile. It has gotten to the point to where I thought I really wanted it over even though I still love her very much. She still lives with me and sleeps in the same bed but she has put an offer on a house and it was accepted. Through all of this she says she still loves me and that she still wants for us to work but she will hardly kiss me and sex is a dirty word. She is very unreceptive to any type of advance I show but says there is no one else and wants to give me a key to her new house. She tells me that if it is meant to be that she can always sell the house but she will not move back unless we're married! I used to feel she was really in love with me but now I don't understand the whole situation. I would love to marry her but not without the passion we used to have for each other! Please any advice?

Sorry your situation is so miserable.

You have no sex, no passion, and she is buying a house without you.

Problems this deep cannot be answered in a short email message except for what follows.

I would recommend you have many long loving talks with her to find out what is wrong with your relationship. However, my guess is that the troubles are so deep that you will also need to see a trained counselor for couples who are having problems.

Is there someone else? That is possible.

Sorry and best wishes! George
