college calls , how long can a crush wait?

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
i have a crush on a younger boy. now im basically showing him how to court me ect. he's kind of shy but willing to learn. its goin ok now, but im begining to think about making him more than my flirting friend. ill be going to college next year and i do not intend to have a long distance relationship because i am aware of the realities of them. how would he feel if i told him i want to be with him but also see other people and wouldnt it be weird to know that we are with others and i do have slight jealousy problems. i wont do anything, ill just become very sad. i want to know if i should stay flirting with him knowing that later i'll want more and possibly hurt myself emotionally. or should i just cut him off and let him know the reason. college may seem far away now but ive had a simmilar encounter that turned out horribly and i try to learn from the past. how do i bring the conversation up ?

RomanceClass.com Advice
Are you prepared to go without a boyfriend all this summer, all of 12th grade and all of next summer? Or do you want to just hang out with different guys and then go to college.

This is what you have to figure out. If you want a boyfriend tell him upfront that it will be over at the end of Summer '09 when you go to college. If you think you will become to attached then don't take this option.

The other option is harder to manage is some ways. It isn't always easy to get boyfriends for casual friendships/dating and then keep moving on. There is a lot of heartache in that direction too.

My advice is to keep this young boyfriend... you will enjoy your last summers and Senior year much more and that is an important experience in your life.

Good luck! George
