A friend with benefits

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
Im nearly 15. I know a person who is a year older than i am. He's good looking and pretty nice. As he knows my friend, he told her what he thought of me, and she let me know. He thought i was 'gorgeous' and he told her he was going to try and get with me... I was frightened and uncertain back then and did not want to feel used. This was a couple weeks ago. We went to the school play together, and it was kind of quiet and awkward, however he still talks to me on msn, and he'll try and catch my attention in the halls at school. It's confusing because he doesen't flirt as much as he used to, and im confused on what he wants from me. And thinking back on it, i'm thinking i might have done something with him... I know it's a little bit dangerous, but sometimes, i feel my life needs some adventure, and i want to know if what i feel is wrong... And how should i deal with this longing? Please don't judge me harshly.
Thank you for all your help.

RomanceClass.com Advice
It is very normal to want adventure.

Even quite shy people want adventure even though they are too shy to find it.

You should seek out reasonable adventure in your life. You only have one life to live. But don't try things that will hurt you so much that you can't deal with it. One exception to this is true love. You should risk everything for true love. Know, however, that true love only comes to you maybe once, twice, or three times in your life, so don't waste yourself on "puppy love" thinking it is true love.

Adventure should be taken as slowly as possible. Each adventure is fun and exciting in itself, so don't blow a bunch of adventures on one night. Build up each adventure and also if the adventure goes bad it won't hurt so much.

Think of mountain skiing and climbing. It can be the most adventurous and joyous thing there is. But if you go too fast you can be caught in an avalanche. Romance isn't as dangerous as mountain skiing but can hurt as much sometimes.

You seem to have a good head on your shoulders. Keep in mind that at your age hormones are running wild and you need to think twice once in a while.

Hope this helps.
Good luck! George
