I broke up with him, and he is still obsessively in love with me

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
So I broke up with him but he is TOTALLY in love with me still. So now it hurts me to see him depressed..so i call him to check on him but he said i'm hurting him even more because i'm raising his hopes up. So what do i do? I mean, I still want to know if he's dealing with the breakup.
