My boyfriend dated a girl to Help Her??Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
I've been going out with my boyfriend since april, and we have had a good relationship. But there is this girl at his school who likes him alot and says she would do anything for him. He told me that the only way to get rid of her was to go out with her, then break up. The reason he said he was doing this is because he was afraid that she might hurt herself.
But now,he tells me he will call me, but then he dosent call till 4 or 5 days later. he has done that about 3 times. i am very upset and confused.i love your website and it has been very helpful to me,please help me.i dont know what to do
I really have to be blunt here, that excuse your boyfriend gave you was one of the worst I've ever heard of. The girl was going to hurt herself, so his solution was to DATE HER AND LEAVE HER????? Talk about a sure way to HURT a girl!! He had NO obligation to date her. He had an obligation to be her friend and to support her. But dating her means he makes a commitment to her. And if she's psychologically unstable, for him to do this to USE HER and then to leave her for the same reason would surely be a way to enrage her.
And now he's not bothering to call you back or treat you properly. I really think he is using her, she's going to be furious when she finds out, and he'll either be stuck dating her or stuck with an incredibly angry girl chasing him down if he ever gets the nerve up to actually leave. OR this was all just an excuse and he did want to date her, and figured this was the sleazy way to leave you without you really knowing it.
In all I think it's a very good thing you're free of him and if she's half as bizarre as he says, they probably deserve each other. And you deserve a guy that is FAR more honest and loyal in your own life.
