where are we at?

I met this guy for 7 months,but I don't know why we cant get started,we both been through 1 marriage, and we each have 1 child,I could tell that he likes me,but he hasn't make any effort in courting me,he told me,I'm a good girl he doesn't want to hurt, I always initiate first,but he will play along,I'm just wondering why does he play along? does he like me? or because I sort of chasing him? he said he is afraid of trying something different? fear of not knowing very umcomfortable,should I let it go or should I keep on assuring him it ok to try something new?
