A lot of what is involved in love is general contentment with life and self esteem. If you date someone and complain through the entire meal, and are miserable, it's unlikely they'll date you again. If you go out with someone and are cranky and unhappy, will they want to be with you?
So it really pays to be happy with YOURSELF before you consider joining with another person. If that comes from weekly massages, or from prayer, or from having wonderful friends, or from enjoying your hobbies, it doesn't matter. Every human has his or her own way of dealing with stress and with being happy. The important point is that you TAKE THE TIME to do this.
You can never expect someone else to "make you happy". Take responsibility for that on yourself. If you are happy, then your entire relationship will flourish.
