don't know what to think
Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
I met this girl around new years at my high school we were talking for a while and around the end of the school year we kind of started to hang out we did like a group date thing for lunch about 4 of us went to mcdonald's to get something to eat and then I decided to ask her out on a 1 on 1 date she accepted with a bright smile, so we went bowling, had ice cream together and sat down in my car and just talked while we had our drinks and we always had something to talk about I found alot of the things she likes I like too and I've been through the same kind of stuff shes been through, I'm really interested in her. But one day she told me that she doesnt want a relationship right now shes enjoying being able to go out with friends and not worry about a boyfriend. I've done what I can to show her I want to be there for her and I can keep doing that, like I wrote her letters about what I think about her, bought her gifts like roses and a teddy bear. But I've noticed that she doesnt really want to say what she thinks of me or show that shes interested in me too or maybe she is and I just don't notice it. She usually has a big smile on her face when she sees me and only after I give her something like a letter or a gift shell call me a sweetheart and give me a hug, but she hugs all her friends so sometimes I feel like its nothing special and I wonder if shes just saying I'm a sweetheart or if she really means it?

My feeling is that you should accept what she says about not wanting a BF right now.
Perhaps if you continue being there for her and giving her small presents she may grow to have special feelings for you. That's the most you can hope for right now in my opinion.
