I still love my ex and want her back

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
Hello,

I broke up with my ex about 8 months ago because she just kept doing little things that hurt my feelings. Maybe I was hurting her feelings too, I don't know. We still talk. No more than a few minutes a week. So I guess you could say we are friends. However, I'm thinking I want her back. And I also just discovered she's just recently started seeing another man. Call me selfish under this circumstance, but I want this woman back. I was with her first, and this guy just separated from his wife. So maybe he should try to do with her what I'm thinking about trying to do with my ex. I know I have no chance if this guy turns out to be a really good guy. And it's all my fault, and I accept that. I put myself in this position. But if he turns out not to be Mr. perfect, I want my face and memories of me still in the back of her mind. I'm thinking about just regularly calling her once a week just to talk about whatever comes to mind. Work, weather, sports, etc. Anything except our past failed relationship. Just being her friend. My thinking is I've got nothing to lose, and possibly everything to gain. If she doesn't want me calling her, I figure she'll either tell me through words or actions. Such as not answering my calls or returning them(she has caller ID on her cell phone).

What would you advise?

Thanks.

You've hit on the perfect strategy.

In addition to the phone calls ask her if you could go out to dinner once a month as friends.

Hope things go your way! George
