Am I Too Shy?

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Male
I'm a teenager that recently asked a girl out. She said that I was too shy. How can I become less shy?

RomanceClass.com Advice
If you asked her out, you can't be *too* shy! Many people are too shy to ever ask a girl out :) But like everything else in life, shyness takes practice to overcome. Everybody is shy sometimes. Some people just have practiced more to get used to it.

So practice. Try talking more when you're out with friends, talking to new people if they are near you. Practice, practice, practice. When you're out at a mall, ask strangers what time it is or ask storeclerks for more information about items. The more you talk to people, the more "normal" it will seem, and the less nervous you will be.

In essence I think she's saying you're too nervous. Being with someone that is always nervous is very rattling. She wants a boyfriend she's comfortable with, not one that is always anxious and worried. So the more comfortable you get being around her and around strangers in general, the better off you'll be!
