STILL in love with my ex/best friend
Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I have known my ex for 9 years now. We dated on and off for 6 years and we kind of just went our separate ways. I did my dirt and so did he. But always seemed like we forgave each other no matter what. Earlier this year I had found out that he moved to Florida and I was so hurt because I thought I would never see or hear from him ever again. I then realize that I never stop loving him and that I only tried to push it to the side because I didnt think there was a chance for us. I started looking over my past relationships and realized that I was comparing all of them to my ex, which is why they didn't work out. Anyway, my friend contacted me in March and told me that she had talked to my ex and she said that he was trying to find me and she gave me his number. For 6 Months straight my ex and I talked on the phone for hours talking about nothing or everything. He confided in me and I confided in him. We became Best Friends and I ended up falling deeper in love with him. I was in transition of moving and I didnt talk to him for a month and when I finally talk to him again, I found out that he was seeing someone he used to talk to before he left. I was devastated! My heart broke in thousands of pieces. I expressed to him that i want to be with him again and i miss him. He told me that he cared about the new girl and that it was semi serious. He said that I will always be his girl and his best friend forever. My question is,is it possible that there is a chance for us to be together? And if there is, what can I do to make him see that we belong together?
You still have his friendship which is a very good sign.
Ask him if you can call him once a week for 15 mins just to catch up with each other. Be cheerful and don't talk about your relationship.
If things fall through with this other woman, you will be standing by ready and waiting.
This approach should leave him feeling good and you too.
Good luck! George
