how do i get her back

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
i had been with my ex for a year and several months, during the last 4 months i had felt unhappy and been wanting to break it off. During these 4 months she was enrolled in a workshop that took a lot of her time, she also pushed me to go as well but i always refused. when i finally broke it off it felt like she wanted the same, in my mind i wanted space and then get back together. for about 2 weeks we spent a lot of time together, she was teaching me to dance and we were both enjoying our company again. during these time we both expressed how we both felt confused and wanted our space but wanted to get back together. well all of a sudden one day she call me and says she's made a decision and that all we can be is friends. the next day i realize that i definately want to be with her and i have her come over so we can talk. when i express my feelings she then tell me that 2 days ago she discovered that she has feelings for someone else and he has feelings for her. this is someone she met at the workshop. i felt very heartbroken and betrayed. at first i didnt want to have anything to do with her but now were talking again although she is the one who calls me and i belive its because she wants to maintain a friendship with me. i still love her and want to be with her. i should also mention that i am her first boyfriend and that she's 22 and latina, and this new guy is japanese. please give me some advice

RomanceClass.com Advice
My advice is to remain her friend and be patient.

They may tire of each other before you know it. Continue to communicate with her (share info), be compassionate (share feelings), and be affectionate (pay compliments, hugs, etc.)

My second advice is for the future. Be very sure you want a break (with the chance of it becoming permanent) before suggesting one to a girl.

Good luck! George
