Is checking out other girls an effort

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I was in Las Vegas with my boyfriend and we were getting ready to leave a place. There was a girl near by and he waited to walk away until he checked her out. I am not sure if he does it without realizing he is doing it or if he is actually making an effort to check out girls. This situation happens a lot and I am not sure if I am imagining that he makes a real effort to check out girls with trying to be sneaky about it or if guys naturally dont even realize that they are checking out girls right in front of their girlfriends. Sometimes I get upset and I just shut down and do not talk to him about it because if I do make a comment about it he tells me that I am acting stupid and he gets upset if I bring it up. I want to thank you for the advice you are going to give me I really appreciate it even if I am the wrong one!

RomanceClass.com Advice
It is really annoying when your g/f or b/f checks out the opposite sex.

You are right that many people (men and women) look at others without even knowing they are doing it. Some of them call it "people watching." It is difficult to get used to it, but you really have to if you want a good relationship with them.

You could make an agreement with your b/f that if he is grossly checking out another girl that it is ok for you to poke him in the ribs as a gentle reminder.

Another thing to try is wait for a hunky man to walk by and stare at him obviiously and let out a low moan as you do. OK OK that is just a joke, but you have to develop a little sense of humor about the whole situation. Try this which might help: watch other guys and see if they are checking out females. I think you will find that they do and your b/f is normal.

Lastly, if this continues to bother you you could see professional counseling to help you deal with it.

Good luck! George
