To introduce yourself, walk up to her and say hi and tell her your name. If you don't know her name ask her. Ask her how things are going and leave it at that. Then be sure to say hi and have something to say to her when you see her.

If that is too much to do all at once, you can start of slower by just greeting her when you pass... look her straight in the eyes, say in a clear voice "Hi" plus her name (you need to find this out by asking around), and then giving her a big smile. Remember smiles are the glue of good relationships.
