what do you say to help her be happy when she's mad at you?

If she's upset with you, then you need to talk through what is making her upset. You can't just distract her with "things that please females"!! The most important thing you can ever do in a relationship is be honest and open in it, and learn to resolve any arguments. That is what keeps it going through ups and downs. So really talk with her. Make sure she knows you DO understand why she's angry. And then discuss ways to prevent this from happening in the future. Only by doing that will she accept the situation and stop being angry. If you just try to "cover it up" it'll resurface again, worse than before.
