i'm very confused...have i ruined all hope? please respond
Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
please bear with me this is a bit long :)...there is a guy in my class that i have really liked for quite some time now. we would always talk in class and laugh and joke around and stuff. for a while i thought there was a chance that he might like me. i would catch him looking at me, he would always come up to me in the halls, he asked me to switch seats so i could sit next to him, etc. and he generally would say some things that would make me stop and think "wwwwhaat was that...?!" about last friday (and i know at this point you are thinking "this is soo long!" but really this is very important) we were talking as usual and i saw this piece of paper folded up on his desk so i leaned over and grabbed it and said jokingly nosy "hhhmmm whats this??" and i opened it and it was a paper with his name and number written on it. i just laid it back down on his desk and started talking again. like 5 minuots later he suddenly really quickly said "here you can have this." and really quicky put the paper with his number on my desk. but just then the bell rang and he was outta there fast. no i did not call him over the weekend. well manday came and he was normal happy guy and we talked but i didnt give him my #. on tuesday he suddenly completly stopped talking to me. not one word. didnt even look at me. wednesday came. the same thing. on thursday i asked him if he was ok and why he hadnt been talking to me. he mumbled something about being in a mood. that was our entire converstaion. today he wasnt even at school. i am so confused. is it me? i hate to think that way, but could it be because i didnt give him my number nor did i call him and he thinks im not interested? remember, im usually very very shy and just recently have gotten more comfortable with guys. i wanna tell him i like him without actaully saying "i like you" you know what i mean? or is he just a jerk for dropping me like that? i am so sorry that this is so long :) but i dont have anyone to talk to about this...my friends are absoulutly no help and i want a real opinion. by the way im 16 and so is he

Give him a call and ask him how he is doing.
Apologize for not calling earlier and explain that you are shy. Thank him for giving you his number. Have some topics to talk about and generally have a nice fun telephone conversation.
Tell him you are looking forward to seeing him again and thank him for inviting you to change chairs in class. Tell him you like him.
Give him you phone number and ask him to call anytime. Also tell him your internet addresses if you have them.
Be very sweet with him since he has put himself out there by being so friendly with you. No you haven't ruined all hope.
