Closure after 40 years

Visitor's Question from a 51-60 year old Male
I left my first lover after argument about being able to trust her. 40 years ago. The pain was immense for good reason. I moved on, had other girlfriends, got married, have good marriage. Keep in touch with other girlfriends. By change ran into her parents, who gave my her phone number in different state. She is married and has grown children.

This has brought back the painful memories and I wanted to contact here to apologize for argument and resolve why we broke up. I am not afraid to contact here, don't know how to approach her.

RomanceClass.com Advice
It is often awkward to contact a very old companion... especially one where there was conflict involved.

Call her up and flat out tell her why you are calling and say what you have to say about what happened. Most likely she will say that she is happy you called and happy to hear what you said.

That's about what you want to hear... right?

Good luck! George
