friends with benefits

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
i was in a 2 year relationship that i ended and after that i just started seeing random people and being friend with benefits with all different guys which kept me from feeling lonely but also made me feel used and slutty. i finally after a year went out with two guys and broke up with both of them after a month. i'm scared of commitment now after how badly my last serious relationship ended. i kind of like this guy now and i want to be with him but i kind of don't. is it unhealthy to just be friends with benefits?...because i do feel like i want to fall in love again but i don't feel like i am capable of loving anyone else. when my last ex that i was with for a month told me he loved me a i freaked out. is it just because i haven't found the right person?

RomanceClass.com Advice
Too many friends with benefits can be unhealthy because it increases the chances of getting STDs and getting pregnant. It may also be psychologically unhealthy because you might regret it one day.

You seem to be lonely without a boy in your life. Perhaps you should make an effort to live without a b/f for a semester. Join some activity like sports, or school newspaper. This will take your mind off of boys and give you a chance to clear your thinking.

This may also help you develop a strong relationship with a special boy.

Good luck! George
