just not sure?

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
Well here it goes. I have been getting pretty close to this girl over the past 3 months or so, we were just friends for a while, but this past week we actually started kissing and stuff for the first time. The thing is I am not sure where to go with this because she is always on and off with her exboyfriend and I don't even really know what is going on with them either. I feel like shes the type of person that gets into such a comfort zone that she scared for life without him even tho deep down shes knows it will never work with them. I don't want to pressure her into anything, but then again I don't think I can really put up with us starting to get closer and then at the same time shes half with this other guy. I really like her so I would like to make it work, but I'm not sure if it can. What should i say to her? Or any other advice would be great, thanks for your help :)
