Can't get him out of my mind

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
ok i will be called C and the guy i love will be called JJ. i've known JJ since i was five. he is a year older than me. i've liked him since the fifth grade. i am now entering my sophmore year in highschool. i really liked JJ for a long time but i know he doesn't love me the same way because we were instant messaging one night and he said that he loved me like a sister. he also said that he used to have a crush on me when we were little and he says that he thinks i'm really pretty but he doesn't think that he could go out with me because he'd be afraid of hurting me in any kind of way and that we wouldn't talk anymore or something like that. i understand what he was saying and all and i'm probably somehow just being selfish but i felt really sad. the week after that at some family gathering we had he came up to me and gave me this long hug and asked if i was alright and i said yah. i really did feel alright for a little while. i tried moving on to other guys because it was sooo easy for JJ to move on. he started dating one of my friends which really ticked me off! i was really jealous. they didn't last long though because she was seeing other guys behind JJ's back. JJ is a big flirt and i'm not his girl and he is not my guy but i really get jealous when he is flirting with other girls. I've tried liking other guys and i've tried dating guys to keep my mind off of him but i always find my way back to loving JJ instead. JJ is a nice guy and he always makes me smile even if he just walks into a room i will smile. he makes me laugh and i feel like i really do love him but i don't want to love him because he doesn't love me the same way. he can easily move on but i can't. as i've said before i'm probably being selfish but i feel like mad at him because he says that he doesn't want to hurt me but i'm seriously hurting on the inside. i'm about to destroy a house or something! how do i just move on the way he can? plz help.

RomanceClass.com Advice
Sorry you are in this situation.

It isn't easy to get someone out of your mind. You can try this and see if it helps: whenever he comes into your mind, tell him that it isn't working out and ask him to help you by leaving your mind alone. Do this about 100 times and slowly his influence on you will lessen.
