Whats going on??

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
There are these 2 guys in a grade higher than mine and they're really outgoing and they kind of flirt with other girls aswell as me. I really like them as friends and it was about this year that i became good friends with them. they sit with me and my friends at recess and lunch and sometimes one of them (ill call him Tom* - he has a girlfriend I think) just comes up behind me and grabs me like a weirdish cute bear hug. The other day he gave me a back massage out of the blue and sometimes they would slap my knee just for fun coz its cold and i dont mind it. But im concerning about the other one. Hes really nice and funny, they both are. This one (I’ll call him Jay) wanted to no hu i like but i wouldnt tell him coz im really shy about that and plus it was him that i like and he wouldnt stop asking me so I asked him hu he likes and he wouldn’t tell me.

the other day Tom* asked me if i liked Jay* and i sed no but not in a mean or surprised way and them he asked my friend the same question and she said no also. it sounded like he only asked my friend as like a cover up. Jay* was sitting right next to Tom* and he stood up and as he walked away he was like “everybody loves me” but he sounded kinda sad when he said it.

When Jay* talks to me I have a hard time looking him I the eye coz im a shy person but I can be really loud, and he kinda stares at me with a smile and I feel awkward (not in a bad way) so I look in a different direction…

Does he (jay*) like me or not? Whats going on?
