It was going good, then suddenly it crashed. What happened?

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
I've known this girl for near six months, we talked often, saw a movie together, emailed and got pretty close in the past two months after I finally got the courage up to start something with her. She told me that she liked me and kept talking about us hugging sometime. So for a week she was talking about how she would enjoy this hug a lot. So a week ago we were together and I hugged her, I was sincere because I knew it was important to her, and she seemed happy about it and afterwards asked me if I'd see a movie with her sometime. After that I didn't hear from her for four days, then I get an email saying that the hug made her uncomfortable and the "Lets just be friends" line suddenly appeared and I haven't heard from her at all in days. I know there isn't another guy, but she suddenly lost interest or something.. why would this suddenly happen and what should I do? Its been more than a week since we hugged and other than the just be friends email I haven't heard from her at all and she won't answer the phone.

RomanceClass.com Advice
My guess is that she wanted more than a hug.

Perhaps you are too shy for her. A good thing to try is to write her and say sorry the hug wasn't so good... we should be able to do better and more than that if you want to give it another try.

It's worth a try. If that wasn't the problem she will let you know soon.

Good luck! George
