What's up with this?

I'm a good looking male who needs advice. These girls at my school, everytime they see me, will start to whisper to each other, or alert each other that I'm there. One of the girls always looks at me, then when she realizes I look at her, she looks away. I've tried to say hello to this girl, but when I said HI she just ignored me. Why?

My guess is that she is shy and that's why she ignores you.

Do this and it will be harder for her to ignore you: when you pass her in the hall look her straight in the eyes, say in a clear voice "Hi" plus her name and give her a big smile.

Do it even when she is in a group of girls because the girls will encourage her to reply.
