What is Romance?

This sounds suspicously like a class assignment that you are trying to get me to write for you :)

Romance is great when it is a spontaneous show of affection that doesn't involve cash outlay - when it is solely about one person caring for another person. It can involve a cute little note, or a drawing, or a kiss on the cheek.

Romance is awful when it is about one person "demanding" the other person bring flowers or chocolates or whatever as PROOF of love. It's just as bad when one person feels obligated to show up with those items as proof that the love exists.

Romance isn't about proof. It's not about spending cash. It's about feeling an emotion and expressing it.
